I will note that the parking lot says permit required and the box was empty containing day permits so that part was a tad confusing. I can wait to go back to this little oasis of paradise! Hot springs feel amazing. Went just a couple days ago. Smoky but open. Had the place all to ourselves. Just remember to pack out what you bring in. Respect Momma Nature!!! It was open as of September Lots of families and kids in the tubs but they were all being safe and respectful.

A bit trashy, people left garage thrown around. A lot steeper than anticipated and a bit strenuous! Definitely not closed. We didn't see any sketchy people there, but I imagine it could be a hot spot.

The climb up is actually steep, so wear something better than flip flops. Steep hike. Nice hot - warm water. Watch out for nude people. Place is beautiful minus all the graffiti along the way starting from the parking area.

Once at the hot springs the place was full on the Wednesday we were there with someone playing house music. People seemed respectable other than the loud music. Such a shame to visit a place that is so beautiful on its own but ruined by the graffiti everywhere. When we got back to our car, the lot had what appeared to be homeless hippies bbqing in the lot. Weird vibes here. Trail is not closed. The trail to get there 0. It was a nice spot to sit in the water and enjoy the nice hot pools.

Expect naked people. This trail is in no way closed as of June 23rd. It almost seems that people mark it as closed to keep people away. It looks like it should be in a inner city with how people treat it.

The entrance is closed sadly and we had to walk for 50 minutes to the hot springs.

There is black ice on some spots of the road , it was tiring but my friend and I had fun! I recommend going in the winter the hot springs are pretty hot. Has been and remains closed per USFS website but typical visitors to places like this don't care and continue to ruin it for others. Place has been ruined by social media and careless visitors.

The road leading to the trailhead is open, but you certainly need snow tires or chains to be safe. Short hike that is muddy and somewhat slippery, but it was pretty easy in Yaktrax. Have to scramble over some rocks at the end. Very unique experience; would highly recommend. With the proper management, this place could be much more beautiful and enjoyable experience for many. Got there at dusk hoping the approaching dark would thin out the crowds.

The parking lot dumpsters are obscenely overflowing with trash as well as the vault toilet which is almost completely full of waste up to the seat, and homeless people are camping in their cars. The four springs that are actually hot are hogged by revelers, including one guy who shouted a jeer at me for wearing a mask when I first arrived due to the trail being so narrow and having to pass by closely to other people.

We waited for about an hour for a warm pool to open up; one did as we were getting dressed but we were over it at that point.

This place would greatly benefit from a partnership between the Umpqua National Forest and caring locals, as in the Remington Hot Springs California model.

At that location, there is a Facebook group of locals that routinely volunteer their time to clean, pick up trash, periodically drain the pools, and generally discourage negative behavior. They have implemented rules that visitors limit their time to a half hour when the springs are busy, and keep gorgeous places such as this the relatively pristine places they should be. Only complaint was the trash. If you can pack it in you can pack it out.
